Share Your Thoughts on Clean Energy in the 2018 Virginia Energy Plan

June 26, 2018

The Commonwealth of Virginia is developing the 2018 Virginia Energy Plan. The 2018 Virginia Energy Plan is intended to provide a strategic vision for the energy policy of the Commonwealth over the next 10 years. Over the next 60 days, the Commonwealth will be listening to citizens and receiving input on what the future of energy in the Commonwealth will look like. The plan will focus on several major buckets: solar and wind development, battery storage, offshore wind development, and energy efficiency. All four areas that Conservatives for Clean Energy has been championing and working with conservative leaders to advance across the Commonwealth.

Conservatives for Clean Energy Virginia is encouraging all of our supporters to submit their thoughts to be incorporated into the plan. It is important that conservatives voice their support about the economic benefits of clean and renewable energy sources to Virginia’s economy, and the need to increase the choices and availability of clean energy sources in Virginia. By voicing your thoughts, you are helping Virginia become a leader in the advanced energy economy. Below are two different ways you can be part of this process.

1. Written Comment Period

A 60-day public comment period from June 25, 2018 to August 24, 2018 has been established to ensure citizens have a voice in the plan’s development. Written comments may be submitted online via the Virginia Regulatory Town Hall website by clicking HERE.

2. Public Listening Sessions

In-person, topic-focused public listening sessions have been scheduled for the following dates:

July 23, 2018 from 1-4 p.m. in Richmond on Energy Storage (Virginia State Capitol, House Room 1, 1000 Bank Street, Richmond, VA 23218)
